Barbara J. Koenig

Barbara J. Koenig, age 71, of Manchester Twp., passed away early Saturday morning, May 18, 2019 at the Whiting Healthcare Center. Born in Plainfield, N.J. she has lived in Manchester Township since the late 1970s.

She was a renaissance lady, enjoyed opera, DC & Marvel, ceramics, Broadway, and was an avid Outlander fan. Throughout her courageous battle with renal carcinoma, she spread her earth angel wings and left for Heaven.

Barbara had worked as a secretary for many years with the United States Veterans Administration.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, William August Koenig, in 2010.

Barbara is survived by her daughters; Joyce Koenig and Carolyn Parker and her husband, Randy, three grandchildren; Steven Robertson, Ruth Robertson, and Scott Parker as well as two great-grandchildren, Kristiana and Riley.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood. A service celebrating her life will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the D'Elia Funeral Home. A private committal service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, N.J. (North Hanover Twp.)
