Dorothy Gornick

Dorothy was born on September 14, 1927, in Simpson, Pa, and she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Pavelchak. She was a retired administrative assistant and a devoted homemaker. After being raised in Simpson, PA, she was a longtime resident of Saddle Brook, NJ before moving to Ocean County in 1987. Dorothy loved her church. She was a cooking and baking enthusiast, and enjoyed spending time with her loving family. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting.

Wife of the late John F Gornick, who passed away in 2008, and grandmother of the late Brian Kern; sister of the late Mary, Julia, Michael, John, Stephen, and Samuel; she is survived by her children, Janice Kern and her husband Robert, and John Gornick and his wife Karen; a sister, Gertrude Mullaney; and four grandchildren, Daniel Kern and his wife Lindsay, Matthew Gornick and his wife Karri, Stephen Gornick and Sean Gornick; a great granddaughter, Violet.

Visitation will be Monday, January 8, 2018 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Orthodox Christian Church of the Annunciation, 360 Van Zile Road, Brick, NJ 08724. Her funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in the St. Vladimir's Russian Orthodox Cemetery in Jackson, NJ.
