Dorothy M Perkins

Dorothy M. Perkins, 83, of Bricktown, passed away Saturday at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. Born in Lakewood, she was a resident of Brielle, NJ for many years before relocating to Bricktown. She was a member of the Pt. Pleasant Junior Women’s Club, The Metedeconk River Yacht Club, the Mansaquan River Yacht Club, the Pt. Pleasant Beach Monday Night Bowling League, the Jersey Shore Promenaders Square Dancing Club and a charter member of the Pt. Pleasant Business & Professional Women’s Club. She also served upon the Brielle Planning Board and the Environmental Commission for 9 years. Daughter of the late Lida (Chapman) and Francis J. Meyer and sister of the late, Francis J., Jr. and and William Meyer, she is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Hayek and Donna Grosiak both of Brick, NJ; a brother, Lawrence J. Meyer of PA; 4 grandchildren, Adam Hayek and his wife Rachel, Joshua Hayek and his fiancé Sarah Artale, Nicholas Grosiak and Dr. David Grosiak; 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will be received Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701, followed by the celebration of a memorial mass at 12:00 noon at St. Mary of the Lake RC Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Committal services will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
