Edward W. Pulz

Edward W Pulz, 87, passed away peacefully at his home in The Villages, Florida. He was born shortly after his parents purchased one of the first poultry farms in Ocean County and resided in Lakewood, NJ , enjoying life there and on Long Beach Island with his family until 1991, when he and his adored wife of 47 years, Helen (nee Tarnopolski), retired to Florida. After 14 years of missing her, Edward now rejoins 'his' Helen. Edward earned his diploma from Rider College in 1942. He owned Jersey Egg Marketing Co., and later, with his kids at the grills, Uncle Wills Pancake House in Beach Haven, NJ and Ship’s Galley in Surf City, NJ. He, Helen and son Gary ran Uncle Wills, a popular LBI family business for over 20 years. Edward was a past president of the Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society and a Boy Scout leader. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, RC, Lakewood and St. Timothy’s RC Church, Lady Lake, FL. Later in life, Edward rekindled a high school relationship with Flora Hudson Contreras of Howell, NJ, relishing their time together after so many years. Edward is lovingly survived by son Gary (Joanne) of Beach Haven, NJ and Cambridge, MD; daughter Basia of Black Earth, WI; son Edward of Merritt Island, FL; son Kevin (Kathleen) of Wauwatosa, WI; son Gregory (Sharon) of Cranbury, NJ. His grandkids and great-grandkids filled him with joy. He will be missed by Kristian, Rein, Karalina, Daggi, Kaya, Jonas, Nicholas, Wyatt, Lila, Dana, Eric, Frank, Keenan, Leah, Rory, Ian and Marley. Ed loved (and remembered) bad jokes and a good cup of coffee. He'll be missed by his many friends and extended family. Dad was a good egg. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte. 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Mary Of The Lake Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to their favorite charities in Dad’s name.
