

Born in New York City, son of an Italian immigrant family, he resided in Livingston, NJ and Silver Spring, MD before moving to the Lake Ridge Active Adult Community in Toms River, NJ in 1996 with his wife, Gina. In 2019 he and Gina moved to Seabrook Independent Living in Tinton Falls NJ. He was a communicant of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Toms River.
Hank was awarded the opportunity to attend The Bronx High School of Science, then served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was a graduate of Manhattan College with a degree in engineering through the GI Bill and grants from the NY State War Service Scholarship. In his 60’s he attended Seton Hall Graduate School of business earning a Master’s Degree in Finance and International Operations. In 1960 Hank redesigned the telephone lines in the White House and led a group of engineers from around the country to work on government related communication systems. He retired from AT&T in 1996 after 43 years of service as the Division Manager for domestic and international technical standards and Federal regulatory issues. With AT&T he was instrumental in developing a system which automatically evaluated the health of international telephone circuits. In 1990 he was awarded The Finegan Standards Medal by the American National Standards Institute for his leadership in the development and application of voluntary standards.
In Lake Ridge, he was active in the Italian Club, the Audio-Visual Team, the Computer Club, the Engineering Committee, and the Community TV Channel Committee. He and his wife Gina wrote restaurant reviews for the community newspaper for 10 years. He also spent many hours helping neighbors and friends with their computer problems, taught a beginner computer class, and most importantly he was kind. Hank helped not only his family in need but friends and strangers as well. He was fascinated with financial markets and traded daily.
Hank is predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years; Gina, his brothers; Joseph, Angelo, Vincent, and Dino. He is survived by his four devoted children: Michael, Laura and husband Mike, Paula, Eric, and wife Andrea. Plus, his cherished 8 grandchildren; Kristen and husband Jeffrey, Melissa and husband Derek, Nicole, Marko and wife Becca, Eric and wife Caroline, Michaela and husband Brandon, Gabriella, and Siena. He is also survived by three beautiful great grandchildren (Andrew, Ryan & Jordan).
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, from 12 to 4pm at D'Elia Funeral Home; 1300 Vermont Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, November 4th at 10:30 am at St. Luke's Church located at 1674 Old Freehold Rd, Toms River, NJ 08755. Entombment will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery.
