Hermann Baumberger

Hermann Baumberger, age 86, died May 13, 2010 at Martin Memorial Hospital in, Stuart, FL.

Born in Weinfelden, Switzerland, Mr. Baumberger immigrated to United States in 1947. He lived in Atlantic Highlands, Lakewood, NJ; and Jensen Beach FL for the last 16 years.

He served in the Swiss Army. He worked in the United States as 1st Vice President in charge of operations for Swiss Bank in New York, NY for 43 years retiring in 1989. He belonged to the Free and Accepted Masons for 50 years and was a past Master , and the Lions Club, and was an avid golfer. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

He was pre-deceased by his beloved twin brother Alfred in January 2010. He is survived by his loving wife Gertrude of 24 years, a daughter Mary Anne and her husband Michael D’Anna of Jackson, NJ; two sons Michael Carew and his wife Patti of Monsey, NY; Timothy Carew and his wife Lynn of Shelton, CT; his sister Lisbeth Uehlinger and her husband Hans of Switzerland, a sister in-law Marteli Baumberger of Switzerland, 6 grandchildren Kristen, Lauren, Kaitlyn, Michael, Ryan, Christopher, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday May 18th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave; Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 19th at 10:30 am, St. Mary of the Lake Church, Lakewood, NJ.
