John was born in Manhattan, NY on July 24, 1950 as the son of Lillian and Norman Wood. He was the eldest of 5 siblings, and he was raised in Lakewood, NJ. John spend much time between his home in Lakewood and his grandfather's home in New York. He was a former altar boy at the St. Mary of the Lake Church in Lakewood. He was a professional carpenter and woodworker. John was a devoted father and provider for his family. Son of the late Norman Wood; he is survived by his 3 children, Ivonne Wood, Lisette Nazario, and Marilyn Gonzalez; his wife Maria; his mother Lillian Brandt (DeCesare); his siblings, Jane, Joan, Jeffery and Julie; 6 grandchildren, special cousins, and several other dear friends and relatives.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, 1 Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
