

Jose Antonio “Tony” Garced, age 48, of Lakewood, passed away on Friday at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Born in Lakewood, he spent most of his life in Lakewood, but had also been a resident of Largo, FL for several years. Tony was a professional surveyor for Morgan Engineering in Toms River, NJ. He was a fan of the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, and the television program Murder She Wrote. He is the son of the late Carlos Garced, he is survived by his mother, Josefina Garced; six siblings, Osvaldo Garced and his wife Rosa, Nivia Martinez and her husband Juan, Carlos Garced and his wife Elba, Yolanda Rodriguez and her husband Carlos, Eriberto Garced and his wife Marisol, and Maritza Brutko and her husband Fred; his partner, Joe Torres; 17 nieces and nephews and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Anthony Claret Church, 780 Ocean Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ.
