

Joseph S. D’Amico, 75, of Jackson, NJ passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012, at the Centra State Medical Center in Freehold, NJ. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, he was a resident of Edison, NJ before moving to Jackson 16 years ago. Joseph served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1988 after a 25 year career with the Newark Police Department. Joseph was a devoted family man who loved the New York Yankees. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Josephine; 3 Children, Julie Hydrusko and her husband Paul, Joseph S. D’Amico, Jr. and his wife Julie, and Jo Ann Alvarez and her husband Joseph; a sister, Marie Bomber; 2 brothers, Patrick and Daniel D’Amico; a dear sister-in-law, Shirley De Vizio; 8 grandchildren, Joseph, John, Nicholas, Kellie, Teresa, Matthew, Nicole, and Andrew; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte. 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral mass will be celebrated10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at St. Aloysius Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson, NJ 08527. Entombment will follow in the Ocean County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Toms River, NJ.
