

Joseph P. Melillo, age 82, passed away on January 30, 2026, with his family close in heart. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Judith Melillo, whom he loved deeply and missed dearly throughout the years, his parents, Joseph and Frances Melillo, and his sister-in-law, Theresa Melillo.
Joseph was a devoted father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, and friend. He was known for his kindness, his loyalty, and the genuine friendships he formed throughout his life. He also had a wonderful sense of humor and an endless supply of jokes, always ready to make others laugh. His quick wit and storytelling brought smiles to family gatherings and everyday moments alike, and his laughter was something everyone cherished. He had a deep love for fishing, where he found peace and joy, and he also enjoyed cooking for those he loved. Above all else, he treasured his family and took great pride in being there for the people who mattered most to him.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Melillo Jr., and his wife, Charlotte, and by his daughter, Lisa Lambiase, and her husband, Damon. Joseph was a proud grandfather to Taylor Melillo and her fiancé, Nick Silva, and to Ella and Aidan Lambiase, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his brother, Nicholas Melillo, and his girlfriend, Antoinette Sotiriou.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, New Jersey.
Joseph will be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, father-in-law, and friend — a man with a generous heart, a love for fishing and cooking, and a sense of humor that could light up a room. His stories, jokes, and laughter will live on in the memories of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
