Margaret Peg M. Schuler

Peg Schuler, 89, of Leisure Village West, Manchester Twp, passed away April 16, 2011 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Mrs. Schuler was born in New York City, NY and lived most of her life in Staten Island, NY before moving to Manchester in 1981. Along with her husband, Joseph, she owned and operated Dongan Hills Liquor Store in Staten Island for 30 years. She was a communicant of St. John’s RC church, Lakehurst; Cathedral of the Air where she was a lector, Eucharistic Minister and member of the town council. In Leisure Village West, she was former president of the Caritas Guild; VFW Auxiliary; Irish-American Club; Red Hat Club and DEBORAH. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt and will be greatly missed by all.Mrs. Schuler is predeceased by her husband Joseph and her siblings, John, Matthew, William, Michael, Katharine Jordan and Thomas O’Connor. Peg is survived by her children, Mary Pat and her husband Nicholas Genovese of Bainbridge, NY; Paul and his wife Jeanette Schuler of Chesapeake, VA and Christopher Schuler of Matawan, NJ, her grandchildren, Mark Genovese, Tara Malone, Cari Genovese-Capper, Erica Schuler-LeBlanc and Keith Schuler; her great-grandchildren, Kevin, Brian, Gavin, and Tristan and Taylor, Stephanie, and Samantha, her sister, Jane McNamara of Riverdale, NY and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at St. John’s RC Church, 619 Chestnut Street, Lakehurst, NJ 08733. Interment will take place at Brigadier General William C.
