Born in Jersey City to the late Vincent Bonacorsi and Mary Frio, Marie was raised in Hoboken and spent many summers in Merchantville, NJ. Marie received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from New Jersey City University in Jersey City. She went on to become a loved Elementary School Teacher in the Hoboken School District. Marie still remained in contact with many of her former students. She was a corresponding secretary to the Bergen County Chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild of America and also a Trustee at the Bergen County Historical Society at New Bridge Landing, where she and her husband also managed the gift shop at the Historical Society. In her spare time, Marie enjoyed travelling with Bill to Colonial Williamsburg during the fall and spring of each year, Manchester, Vermont on Memorial Day Weekend, Berkshires, Massachusetts during July 4th. Upon moving to Lakewood she enjoyed attending historical events at Allaire State Park and going to see the fireworks at the Jersey Shore BlueClaws Stadium.
Marie is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Bill and many cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27 from 11:00am-1:00pm, with a religious service at 12:45pm, at D'Elia Funeral Home, Lakewood. Entombment will follow at the Mary Queen of Peace Mausoleum at St. Mary's of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
