Martin L. Russell

Martin Russell, Age 80, passed away Friday July 23, 2010 at his residence in Toms River, NJ. Born and raised in New York, NY, Mr. Russell lived in Monsey, NY; for 32 years before moving to Toms River ,NJ; 11 years ago. Martin served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for the New York City Police Dept. as a Detective for 20 years retiring in 1975. He was a member of the American Legion. He was pre-deceased by 5 brothers Joseph, John, Roderick, Howard, and Richard, two sisters, Marion and Ann.

He is survived by his former wife Helen with whom he was married to for 42 years, 3 sons Martin, William, and John all of Wichita, KS; two daughters Cathy of Wichita, KS; and Carol of Wayne, NJ; 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and his beloved dog Foxy.

Visitation will be Tuesday July, 27th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm & 7:00pm to 9:00pm, at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave; Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Mass will take place Wednesday July 28th 9:15 am at The Church of St. Luke, in Toms River, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery in Lakewood, NJ.
