Mary Jane Tansey passed away on September 30, 2014 at her residence in Lakewood, NJ. She was born in Newark, NJ, and was a former resident of Cedar Grove and West Orange, NJ before moving to Lakewood in 2001. Jane was a retired Supervisor who served NJ Bell for over 35 years in Glen Ridge, NJ. She enjoyed shopping, and was an avid NY Giants and NY Yankee fan. Mary Jane loved her dog Brandy, and she is fondly remembered for hosting barbeque parties for her extended family and friends. Predeceased by her parents William and Helen Tansey, and sister of the late Elizabeth McGowan, she is survived by her nephew, Richard McGowan and his wife Judi of Manchester, NJ. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2014, in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936. Relatives and friends attending are encouraged to meet at the cemetery office between 10:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. prior to going to the graveside service. Arrangements are by the D’Elia Funeral Home of Lakewood, NJ.
