

Richard S. Solomon, age 75 of Asbury Park, New Jersey passed away on January 25th, 2022. He was born on December 26, 1946, to Thelma and Myron Solomon. He was a twin to his sister Ronnie M. Solomon. Their birth was followed thirteen years later by a younger brother Scott A. Solomon. Richard spent his early years of life living in Bronx, New York. During this time, he developed a love for sports. He lived a short distance from Yankee Stadium giving him a passion for baseball. He spent those years of his life enjoying numerous Yankee games with family and friends. Richard, Michael, and Andrew had their summer tradition of always going to a game together. It was his beloved Yankees who also strengthened the bond he had with his sons. During Richard’s teenage years he attended The Roosevelt School in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Richard spent his life following Judaism where he received his Bar Mitzvah in Scarsdale, New York at the age of 13. Richard later went on to attend Boston University where he developed a love for music. He expressed this during his work in various music studios in the 1960’s. During his early adult years Richard found a passion for automobiles which was displayed in his love for motorcycles and fast cars. Later in life he expanded on this passion which led him to work as a General Manager of several different companies in the trucking industry. During this period, he oversaw trucking imports and exports at companies such as Snowbird, Eastern Freightways, and New England Motor Freight. He married Andrea Urciuoli at the age 36 and they were together for the next 21 years. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Michael Andrew Solomon and Andrew Robert Solomon. Richard’s kind heart and loving personality was displayed in his close relationship he kept with Andrea even after their separation. Richard has always been a family man and placed the happiness of his mother, and two sons as a top priority. He spent his most recent years living at Asbury Towers in Asbury Park, New Jersey. He enjoyed this time living on the water and listening to live music overheard from the Stone Pony during Summer shows. He enjoyed the great views of the water, summer sunsets, and lobster dinners with his sons. Richard is predeceased by his parents Myron and Thelma Solomon, and his twin sister Ronnie M. Solomon Stephens. Richard is survived by his former wife Andrea, his sons, Michael and Andrew, and his brother Scott. Richard will be laid to rest in Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, NY. He will be reunited again with his parents and twin sister at that time. A private viewing and burial will be held for immediate family only. A memorial celebration of Richard’s life will take place in April 2022.
