Ricky McCrystal

Ricky spent his elementary school days at Holy Family in Lakewood where he achieved the President’s Achievement Award for academic excellence. He also played the saxophone in the band and was in the drama club. He attended Christian Brothers Academy and was an assistant coach for the Ice Hockey Team.

While he loved all animals, Ricky’s real love was horses. He attended Meredith Manor International Equestrian College in West Virginia. He was certified as a farrier, horse trainer, and riding instructor.

Ricky excelled in computer skills. He built his own computer systems, was skilled in Computer Aided Drawing, and was certified in precision machining and machine programming by the Ocean County Vocational Technical School. Ricky worked for over five years at the Lakehurst Naval Air Warfare Center. While working in the program that provided custom tool kits to aircraft squadrons, Ricky received several letters of appreciation for his work including one personally given to him by the Admiral, Commander of the Naval Air Systems Command.

Ricky is survived by his parents Stephen and Elaine McCrystal.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 from 2 to 4 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m. at D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral service will be conducted Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will be private.
