Ronald George Sylvester passed away peacefully in Toms River, NJ on February 25,2026 just 3 days shy of his birthday. He was born in Fibre, Michigan. Ron’s life was defined by a commitment to family, service and dedication to his work . Ron proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He returned to civilian life in the mid 60’s and moved to NJ to marry and start his life with Mary. He worked for NJ Concrete Pipe Plant for years.
To those who knew him, Ron was humble, kind, happy, funny ,simple and the ultimate handyman. He found his peace outdoors whether he was tending to his garden, woodworking, or just tinkering under the hood of cars, trucks, lawnmowers, saws, etc,. He especially loved his “red” vehicles. There wasn’t a corner of his home that didn’t benefit from his skilled hands and “ fix-it” spirit whether he was busting through the walls or building new ones. Ron truly appreciated the simple things in life. In his later years he was happiest resting in his recliner watching “The Price is Right” or anything involving sports, cars or nature. Ron always faced any health challenges with resilience, never complained and just appreciated his life.
He spent his final years living with his son Ronald, “favorite” DIL Nancy (whom he claimed watched every move he made .lol ), and grandsons RJ & Dylan. In their home he felt truly at home, comfortable, well cared for and surrounded by the best company. He wanted nothing more than to be around his family.
Ron was pre-deceased by his Beloved wife Mary and daughter Cheryl. He is survived by his twin brother Roger Sylvester, sister Marjorie St. Louis, son Ronald Sylvester and DIL Nancy, his daughter Gloria and SIL Ezzat Sobhi and 9 cherished grandchildren including Ryan, Michael, Rachele, Ronald John (RJ), Dylan,Leilee, Aadel, Luke and Angelita. He is also survived by his nephew Manuel Marino and family and Honorary son Keven Manning and family.
Ronald will be missed greatly by all who loved and knew him. We cannot Thank enough his huge care team including The VA clinic , Dr. Wael Elsamman and staff, Fresenius Medical Care Angie and staff, Bay Lea Village and staff, Shore Home Care and his Wonderful caregiver Tara Grace , Ambicab and his driver Julian and all who cared for our dad.
