

Rose was born and raised in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, where she met her husband, Jim. They shared 64 years of marriage and raised their family in the Mill Basin section of Brooklyn. Rose valued her lifelong friendships with Betty, Ann, and Ginger who she met when they were all kids.
After moving to the Fairways community, Rose became active in several clubs, including the Garden Club, Women’s Club, Shamrock Club, and Amici Club. In her free time, she liked reading, doing daily crossword puzzles, playing cards and Rummikub, and watching her favorite television shows, including Dancing with the Stars, Jeopardy!, and General Hospital.
Rose is survived by her loving husband, Jim; her children, Jim and his wife Karen of Wilmington, Delaware; Karen Breen of Hazlet, NJ; and Susan Disla and her husband Lenny of Manalapan, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brendan, Lauren, Meghan, Courtney, Emily, Sophia, Hillary, and Gabrielle, who meant so much to her.
She was blessed with a large extended family including five beautiful nieces Barbara, Cathy, Patricia, Nancy and Joan who referred to her as a second mom. Their husbands and children filled her holidays with fun and joy.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at D’Elia Funeral Home, Lakewood. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, at St. Luke’s RC Church, Toms River.
