Ruth M. Lovato

Ruth Mae Lovato, 80, of Lakewood, NJ died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving children on August 13, 2011. She was born in Ithaca, NY and lived in Pennsylvania and NJ, coming to Lakewood in 2000. Ruth was a graduate of Brown business school in NY. Upon graduation she became an executive assistant at American Cyanamid where she met her husband, John Lovato. She retired upon the birth of her first child. Ruth returned to work in 1980 as an executive assistant at Macy's and retired in 1997. She was a volunteer at Woodcliff School and an active member at St. Mary of the Lake Church, volunteering on the hospitality team. Surviving is her husband of 58 years, John Lovato, six children: Two daughters and sons-in-law - Neva & Randy Hall of Dallas, TX & Diane & Ken Culbertson of Frisco, TX; four sons and daughters-in-law - John & Kathy Lovato of Oakridge, NJ, Richard & Maureen Lovato of Lincroft, NJ, Amy and David Lovato of Westfield, NJ and Patty and Stephen Lovato of Howell, NJ; sixteen grandchildren - Jacqueline, Kimberly, Danielle, Brittany, Michelle, Jennifer, John, Kenny, Ricky, John III, David Austin, Colleen, Stephen, Lauren, Lindsay and David Heath. Ruth was best known for her compassion, infectious smile and youthful energy. She was filled with Grace and had a gift for making everyone feel truly loved. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Neva and Ralph Webster. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary Of The Lake Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Entombment will follow in the Marlboro Memorial Cemetery.
