Stephen M. “Woody” Woodford, age 61, of Lakewood, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, NJ. Woody was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 10, 1954, and he was the son of the late Evelyn and William P. Woodford. Woody was raised in Brooklyn, NY and relocated to Lakewood in 1986. He retired from the New York City Department of Sanitation. Woody was a fan of the NY Jets and Yankees and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Woody is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Linda; two children, Lynn and Stephanie Woodford; two grandchildren, Julia and Milon; a brother William P. Woodford, Jr. and his longtime companion Patty Carbonara; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. Visitation will be Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 in the St. Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Burial will follow in the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Freehold, NJ.
