William A Gallant

He was born in August 17, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of William and Anna Gallant.

Mr. Gallant was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War on the USS Boxer. He was a police officer at Lakewood Township Police Department from 1955-1964 and later served at the Ocean County Prosecutors Office from 1964-1995, holding the title of Captain of County Detectives.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 19 years, Christine O’Connor Gallant; daughters Kathleen Gallant, Karen Rabinowitz, Gale Schwartz, Gloria Senatore and Ann Marie Freedman; a step-son Brendan O’Connor; and 9 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Anna Gallant; his first wife Patricia Gallant; a brother Gilbert Gallant and a step-son Sean O’Connor.

A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday at 11:00AM in the D’Elia Funeral Home, Lakewood, NJ. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:30-11AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ.
