In Loving Memory of Charlotte Yvonne Wilcox Shebie, as I was affectionately known by my family and friends, was the ninth child of twelve born to my parents Earl Edward Wilcox and Annie Bell Franklin Wilcox on the 1st day of April in 1952 in Bay City, Texas. I was educated in Bay City attending Linnie Roberts Elementary School, Hilliard High School and Graduating from Bay City High School in 1970. Afterwards I moved to La Marque, Texas with my sisters, Zella Jackson, Irene Hynson, Cleo Ward and Josi Childs and my brother Marvin Wilcox, Sr. I furthered my education by attending nursing school, first to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse then to become a Registered Nurse. I worked over forty years in the nursing profession caring for the sick, the imprisoned and the elderly, in which I enjoyed very much. I worked for Fifth Avenue Nursing Home, Mainland Center Hospital, TDC, UTMB, VA Hospital, and various nursing agencies as a traveling nurse. At a young age I joined Enterprise Baptist Church and was baptized by Pastor A.H. Pointer. I have had other church affiliations but my most recent is with Praise Chapel, Webster, TX under the leadership of Pastor Roy Love. I was ordained as a Minister of God in the l990’s and I have always used my ministry skills to minister to the poor and homeless. At my bedside surrounded by family and friends at 1:50 am on October 20, 2017, I slipped into the arms of my LORD and Savior, Jesus and my son, Voris Wilcox. Those who preceded me in death was my son Voris Wilcox; Parents, Earl E. Wilcox and Annie B. Wilcox; grand-parents; brother, Edward Lee Wilcox, Sr; sisters, Irene Hynson, Audrey Jean Zachary, Arlene D. Taylor; nephews, Darrell Franklin and Nathaniel Franklin and a host of other relatives. I leave to cherish my memories, my son Jaris Wilcox; grand-daughters Shadasia Wilcox, Vorian Wilcox, Angel Wilcox. and their father and grandfather, Anthony Jones; sisters, Zella Jackson, Cleo Ward, Brenda Wilcox and Josi Childs; brothers, Marvin Wilcox, Sr., Mitchell Wilcox and Kenneth Wilcox, Sr; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; special friends; Cynthia, Jeri, Brenda, Elva, Renee, Phyllis, Kenita, Cheryl and Henrietta. So to my loving family and friends I am in a perfect place free from pain and tears. Because I Passed the Test of Life, I have a place in heaven with the King. My heart is filled with happiness and joy. To work with God is perfect peace Rejoice in Jesus everyone!!! April Fools!!! I fooled you again, I'm not dead But Alive forevermore!
