Dennis Harold Moore departed this life on July 23, 2016. He has left a lifetime of precious memories of a strong, loving, dependable man devoted to God, family, and friends. He was a life giving spirit and gave and received blessings wherever he went. Born on October 28, 1958, Dennis was the second child born to Harold Moore and the late Vertell Ray Moore. His birth took place in Queens, New York where the family lived for many years. Upon relocating to Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Dennis graduated from Cherry Hill High School East. He then went on to Hampton University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art. During his years at Hampton Dennis pledged and became a member of the Pershing Rifle fraternity. Dennis worked in New Jersey for a few years and later moved where he reconnected with his sister and her husband who lived in Houston, Texas. A few months later blessed with natural good looks and a gift of a great personality, he met Guner Jones. The two were married on Valentine’s Day and enjoyed attending church together. Into this union, came the blessing of a fine son, Daniel, whose charm and intelligence exemplify the love Dennis and Guner shared for him. Although they parted, both remained extremely proud of their son. Daniel was truly the apple of Dennis' eye from coaching and attending many of Daniel's baseball and football games to fishing outings together. Throughout Daniel’s life Dennis was always a proud papa, mentor, disciplinarian, travel companion and friend. Indeed, during vacations and frequent opportunities Dennis and Daniel travelled many, many miles together. Father and son, enjoyed the countryside and bonded about much in life. What a joy! Dennis loved to cook and especially barbeque, entertaining his sister, father, family and friends on special holidays, mainly Thanksgiving with turkey and dressing, Christmas with baked stuffed salmon, apple and sweet potato pies, and a 4th of July fantastic barbeque! All dishes were seasoned and cooked just right...how special were these meals cooked with love and care and consideration of everyone's special requests. We will miss these delicacies and most especially the stories, jokes, laughter, and good times. News of Dennis' sudden departure from his earthly life has surely left a hole in our hearts. But you can rest assured that Dennis is in the arms of our Heavenly Father. He leaves to continue his legacy of love. Dennis leaves behind a loving son, daughter-in-law, step son, step daughter-in- law, step grandchildren, sister, father, nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and a vast host of friends. He was a man with a caring and giving heart, helping all in whatever way he could, he will be greatly missed.
