Jessie Lee Johnson-Ward

Jessie Lee Johnson Ward was born to Savannah Lewis (deceased) and Robert Johnson (deceased) on May 15, 1934 in Brazoria, TX. Jessie was raised in Brazoria, TX but later moved to Galveston, TX where she finished her childhood years. She graduated from Central High School, Class of 1954. Jessie participated in the High School Band and she was a member of the basketball team. Jessie retired as a housekeeper at St. Luis Hotel, Galveston, TX. Jessie was married to George S. Ward (Ida) in December, 1955 and was blessed with 6 children Cynthia, Jerry (deceaed), Ronnie, Renee, Michael, and Annie. During the evening of Saturday, October 13, 2012, Jessie's battle with illness ended. She will always be remembered as a giving, sharing and a believer in Jesus Christ. Jessie attended Live Oak Baptist Church in Galveston, TX. She leaves to cherish her loving siblings Gene Lewis of Duluth, MN, Barbara Jean Aikens of Harborside, CA, Joseph Moore, Sr. (Alice) of Brazoria, TX, Odessa Phillips (Letha-deceased) of Hitchcock, TX, Mary Lewis (deceased), Gilbert Sydney (deceased) and Robert Earl Johnson (deceased). She also had two very close and and loving nieces, Jacqueline Lewis (deceased) and May G. Paris (deceased).
