On a beautiful Summerday, June 5, 1928 in Marksville, Louisiana, God blessed the union of Clarence Williams and Georgina McIntosh Williams with a beautiful baby girl whom they named Matilda. She was educated in the public schools of Marksville and as a young child, she was baptized in Holy Ghost Catholic Church. In April 1947, she united in marriage to the love of her life, Umon Goff. To this union five children were born. The family moved to La Marque in 1953. She attended Queen of Peace Catholic Church and later united with Greater Bell Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City where she served in the Missionary Society and Deaconess. Mrs. Goff was a longtime employee of La Marque Independent School District working in the cafeteria of various schools in the district. In 1983, she completed her work in the district and began to enjoy her leisure time. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She exemplified the woman in Proverbs 31:10, "Who can find a virtuous woman, for her price is far above rubies?" Mrs. Goff was true praying Woman of God. Her beautiful smile, humble spirit and pleasant personality will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. On April 14, 2015, her earthly journey came to an end and she is now resting in the arms of her loving Savior. She is preceded in death by her husband Umon Goff; her children, Mahilda Goff Hanson and Jimmy Goff; her parents, Clarence and Georgina Williams; brothers, Ivory Williams and Curly Williams; sister, Vernice Moore; and grandson, Eric Bowie. Left to cherish memories of her life are her loving children, Amy Bowie, Robert Goff and Raymon Goff; sisters, Verbal Martin, Ella Cunningham (Joe) and Dorothy Moran (Andrew); brother, Herman Williams; seven grandchildren, Roderick (Tanya) Goff, Shalesia Goff, Jermaine Goff, Dorian Goff, Asia Goff, Sherrie Bledsoe and Tyra Goff; great-grandchildren, Erica Bowie, DeEric Bowie, Roderick J.
