

To be absent with the body is to be present with the Lord. Whereas, on June 17, 2015, the Lord called Mitchell Henry Roberts, Jr., home. Mitchell was born August 17, 1955, in Galveston, Texas, to the late Mitchell Henry Roberts, Sr. and Myrtle Green Roberts. Bro. Roberts accepted Christ at an early age and united with St. James A.M.E. Church in Dickinson, Texas. Mitchell used his God-given talent of cooking BBQ for the church whenever called upon. His hobby was Antiquing. Bro. Roberts was educated in the Dickinson Independent School District, and attended Prairie View A & M University. Mitchell worked at Texas City Refinery and continued to operate as an entrepreneur with his BBQ business, coaching youth basketball, and enjoyed a great debate. He is preceded in death by parents Mitchell Henry Roberts, Sr. and Myrtle Green Roberts, and brother Michael Eric Roberts. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: Six sons Calvin (Zac) Mallery (Dickinson, Texas), Brandon Mitchell Roberts (Desirha) Houston, Texas, Ronald Marcel Roberts (Katwayna) Dickinson, Texas, Kisha Jenkins (Denver, Colorado), and Dedrick, Delvin, and Derrick Archie (Dickinson, Texas). Two devoted sisters, Stephanie Renee Roberts (Dickinson, Texas), Rhonda Turner (Darrell) Houston, Texas; One brother, Aubrey Mitchell (Joyce) Shreveport, Louisiana; Thirteen grandchildren: Monique, Anisa, Zachary, Zavion, Gavin, Zaria, Neah, Aniya, Tianna, Kaila, Kera, Brandon II, and Cameron; lifelong friend, Rhonda Roberts; He also leaves to cherish his loving memories a host of special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
