

A TIME TO BE BORN…. Josephine Boston was born on September 26, 1940 in Delhi, Louisiana to the late Harvey Dudley and Lucy Boston In 1950, the family relocated to Texas City, TX where Josephine attended the Booker T. Washington School System. A TIME TO LOVE…. On June 1st, 1957, she met and married Thomas Winston Swan Sr. and to this union six children were born. A TIME TO PLANT AND A TIME TO UPROOT… Josephine was a Certified Nurse Assistant for many years doing what she loved so much, sharing her big heart with many people. Although she accepted Christ at an early age, she rededicated her life to serving and working for Lord in 1994 as the Church Mother of Moreh COGIC. Later she united with her family church, Rock Of Zion COGIC, where she worked and served diligently under the leader-ship of her Pastor, LeVerne Demond. Josephine was a member of Booker T Washington Exes, Texas Southeast District Mother’s Board, Hospitality Board as well as the District’s Sewing Circle Organization. A TIME TO EMBRACE…. Affectionately known as Aunt Josephine or Grandma to many (kin or not), Josephine has always exemplified love and unity. She has been a rock to all that came in contact with her. Josephine never met a stranger and always embraced every-one whether you liked it or not. She loved going to church and being in fellowship and always was happy to help someone in need. Josephine also enjoyed traveling, crabbing, fishing, family cookout gatherings which included schooling all, especially her grandsons, in family games. Obituary (Continued) A TIME TO DIE….. Josephine transitioned from this life to eternal life on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas Winston Swan Sr., her son, Thomas Winston Swan Jr., her brother, Albert Boston and two sisters, Earnestine Goffney and Shirley Coney. A TIME TO MOURN…… Josephine leaves to cherish her loving memory and to carry on her legacy: two daughters: Vivian Gail Swan Dugas (Preston) of Houston, TX and Deloise Swan (Anthony) of Houston, TX; four sons: Danny Swan Sr. of Galveston, TX, Tracey Swan Sr. of Texas City, TX, Stacey Swan Sr. of Galveston, TX., Thomas Ray Lewis (Sandra) of Sacramento, CA. She also leaves siblings: Lille Smith of Texas City, TX, Alice Ramsey of Corpus Christi, TX , Fannie Long of Texas City, TX, Loretha Demond (Laverne) of Fresno, TX, Laura Heyward of Rockport, TX, Ann Dudley of Houston, TX, Dorothy Hunt of Houston, TX, Debra Dudley of Independence OR, Octavia Boston of League City, TX, Carolina Nickerson (McKinsley) of Liv-ingston, TX, Earl " Wayne" Boston (Carolyn) of Hitchcock, TX, Ray Boston of La Marque, TX, David Boston of Texas City, TX, Francis Boston Jr. (Tina) of Texas City, TX and Steven Dudley, Salem, OR, twelve grandchil-dren: Shemeka Williams (Everett), Roy Swan (Anastacia), Danny Swan Jr. (Tyler), Deandre Swan Sr. (Ashlyn), Jada Swan, Tracey Swan Jr., Jeremy Swan (Shampaign), TraQuiesha Swan, Dezrick Swan, Joseph Denton-Swan(Destiny), Stacey Swan Jr., Shakira Swan, Leandra Kaio-Willis (Keena) and Thomas Kaio (Jamika); seventeen great- great grandchildren, Goddaughter, Dolores J. Kaio and host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
