Aunt Kay was in the delivery room with me when I gave birth to my oldest Tramane. I remember telling the Dr. that I was not having this baby if she wasn't there. So they pulled her out of her office and I gave birth. As she stood there in awh with him she forgot procedure for a moment. She snapped out of it and stated in her witty way ”Let me get him to the nursery. All was well. Say hello to your Friend my Mom. I love you. Rest in peace Auntie.

The members of the Galveston County Rho Nu Chapter of OMEGA PSI PHI Fraternity, Inc. expresses sincere condolences to the entire family of our beloved Sandra Tyson Wells. She was a true sister that displayed true agape love as she entertained, encouraged and enlightened us in her home. Great women have a way of smoothing out the rough edges of men. Her kind and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of many. May GOD grant all peace, understanding and strength.

Sandra was a dear friend and excellent nurse. She trained me to be a labor and delivery nurse when she was a training specialist. I worked under her when she was head nurse. Even when she moved on to other pursuits, she has always remained someone who I could confide in. She was a compassionate caregiver for her family and other children also. On occasion I got to go with her to visit a foster child in hospital, care for the children in her home and shopping for clothes for them. She was a woman of action. Sandra had a good heart and she said what she meant and meant what she said. She will be surely missed. Prayers to the family for comfort and strength.
I Thessalonians 4:13-14
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

My prayers are with the family. Sandra was such a wonderful person. She was my head nurse when I worked in Labor and Delivery. Sandra was also a true friend who I will never forget! She was at my last child's birth at St. Mary's hospital and named her Brandy Elizabeth. Sandra gave so much of herself to others! RIP. Sandra. You will be miss by all! God bless the family during this difficult journey!

Sandra and I attended New St. John together. We were in the choir and usher board together. She was a smart and friendly person. We also graduated together. I had found Sandra on the Internet. She and I were to get together when she found the time to come to Port Arthur, TX. So I was so saddened to know that she had passed. She is not with us, but I will always remember the good times we had. Rest on Sandra. Sincerely Linda Day-Jones

I had the pleasure and honor to work with Sandra Wells at UTMB as a RN in the Labor & Delivery Unit. Sandra was our Head Nurse for many years and she was respected by all medical & nursing staff. She was a gracious, kind and loving individual who left a “mark” on the hearts of everyone who knew her! God bless Daryl and Sandra’s loving family! RIP my dear friend forever💕

I am so sorry to hear about losing one of my best friends, Sandra (Tyson)Wells . Sandra, Wilma, Valesca and I (Jessie) were like the “four” musketeers. We met in junior high school at Franklin Jr. High in Port Arthur. Our friendship continued through high school at Lincoln High, where all of us were in the Honey Bees Drill Team Squad. We would go over to each other’s houses during the weekend to have fun dancing, eating, laughing and talking about certain boys we admired. We went to the same college, Lamar University, after graduating from High school. Each of them were in my wedding when I married my boyfriend, Emanuel Preston. I am so devastated of Sandra’s passing. The last time I saw her my husband and I went to visit her in her apartment in Galveston., The last time I contacted her was December, 2019. I will keep you in my thoughts, Sandra and cherish your friendship always in my heart.
