On August 8, 2015, God needed an Angel, so He called upon His servant, Winifred Regina Joseph-Lewis. Gina, as she was affectionately known, was born November 28, 1955 to the late Wesley M. Joseph Jr. and Gladys R. Hogan Joseph. Gina, at a young age accepted God as her personal Savior. She was baptized at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church by the late Rev. B. W. Mc Washington. She was an active member of the church serving in the Music Department (Youth, Young Adult and Sr. Choirs) and served in the Mission where she served as President. In the year 2011, she continued her walk with the Lord and was a founding member of Truth Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City under the leadership of Rev. Johnny Grimes. Gina was educated in La Marque School District and a 1973 graduate of LaMarque High School. Gina spent her life spreading love and kindness wherever she went. She spent many years working as a Nursing Assistant at many Nursing Facilities in Galveston County; and later as a Bus Assistant in Hitchcock School District. In her latter years her failing health stopped her working, but nothing could slow down the LOVE she spread to those who we're around her and knew her. Gina loved her family and family events in Texas and Louisiana. She could always be found somewhere around the kitchen cooking, laughing and spreading joy to all those who were around. Greeting her at Heaven's gates are her parents, Gladys R. and Wesley M. Joseph, Jr.; her grandparents; her former husband and friend, Rodney Earl Lewis; and a host of other loving family members. Gina leaves behind to cherish her memories, a beloved aunt, Ophelia Wilson; her brother, Vernell Joseph and wife, Dana; her sister, Belenthia "B.B." Joseph; her stepchildren, Roshelle, Mary, Monica and Larry Lewis; nephew, Delcolm Joseph; nieces, Shaunice, Taylor and Kolby Joseph; Godson, Tyrell Rolland Lee; Godsisters, Tracey Patterson and daughter, Cenise and Monique Chargois and son, Christian; 12 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives, extended family and many friends.
