Ann had a rare gift for making everyone around her feel special. She cherished the simple things in life, always seeing the good in others and loving her people with her whole heart. Her compassion ran deep, and her warmth made her truly one of a kind. If you knew Ann, you loved her—and you always looked forward to being near her. To many, she was a blessing; to Roger, she was an angel on earth.
Ann grew up in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania before moving to Central Ohio. As a child, she loved being outdoors—sledding in the winter with her brother, fishing at the pond near her home, and lacing up her ice skates to visit Ten Mile Creek with her dad and brother.
Her love of nature stayed with her throughout her life. She enjoyed walking and hiking with Roger several times a week, tending to plants, and spending time in flowerbeds. Ann also loved watching all sports and especially treasured conversations with her grandson Tanner about football, golf or his latest track meet.
She is survived by her son, Jason (Sabina) Hosafros; her grandson, Tanner Hosafros; her longtime companion, Roger Loesel, and his children Gunther, Clayton, and Savannah; her brother, Roy L. Huffman; niece Angela (David) Grimm; nephew Adam Huffman; Roger’s father, Robert Loesel; and many extended family members and friends.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Audrey Huffman, Jr.; her sister in law, Donna Huffman; her dear friend, Juliane Fox; her ex husband, Chuck Hosafros; Roger’s mother, Sally Loesel; and her beloved dog, Bear.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at Halteman Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, 436 N. Broad Street, Lancaster, Ohio. Ann will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 351 Coonpath Road NE, Lancaster, Ohio.
