Barbara F. Fouch, 70 of Lancaster passed away on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2018 at The Ohio State University James Cancer Center. Barbara was born on March 20th, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Lewis E. and Joyce N. Boyer. She was a teacher for 35 years and had retired from the Lancaster City Schools. She was a longtime member of the Saint Paul Lutheran Church. Barbara loved being outdoors and gardening. She was an excellent cook and loved to read. She enjoyed traveling and teaching Sunday school, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was the “guiding light” of her family and everyone looked to her for advice and comfort. She will always be remembered for her loving care, and will be missed by all that knew her. Her daughter Chelsea wrote these loving words to describe her mother, “Yesterday the world lost the most amazing mother, wife, nana, sister, and friend anyone could ask for. My mom was the smartest, kindest, most compassionate and selfless person I know. There are no words to describe how much we are going to miss her. She was not only my mom by my best friend. Even when she disagreed with choices I made she never made me feel bad about them, she knew I would learn from my mistakes and eventually figure out she was right. Her and my dad are my number one supporters and I could never ask for better Parents and grandparents. The love that she showed my dad, Nick, the kids, and I is indescribable. The world will not be the same without her. I love you mom and miss you so much.”
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, David Fouch; daughter, Chelsea (Nick) Speelman and their children, Jaxson and Harper; siblings, Betty Epie, Blythe (Carroll) Cutler, Norman (Debbie) Boyer, Nils Boyer, and Bert Fouch; along with 35 nieces and nephews and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Neal Boyer; her father and mother in law, Daryl and Dorothy Fouch; and sister in law, Denise Miller.
