Betty thoroughly enjoyed life and laughter. A sparkling, loving lady with a positive outlook and tremendous energy, she brought joy and lightened the load of all who knew her.
Betty was a patriot who loved our country. Comfortable in nearly any setting, she said that many of her fondest memories came from the years she and her beloved husband, (Ralph) spent in the Air Force. She excelled in her role as a military spouse, setting the example for others and making her husband’s career enjoyable for the family. Ralph retired after 20 years of service and together they spread their retirement years throughout New Mexico, Florida and Ohio. In later years Betty enjoyed more Air Force time and travels with her daughter (Kim) and Son-in-law (Robin) Rodgers.
All her life, Betty enjoyed meeting people. She made numerous friends, all of whom were very special to her. A life-long friend has been Nancy A. Stevens of Lancaster, OH who introduced Betty to her future husband Ralph. Together, Nancy and Betty humorously navigated all of life’s ups and downs and those stories still keep the family laughing!
Betty moved to Xenia in 2008 and attended Xenia Nazarene Church. She is survived by a daughter, Kim (Robin) Rodgers – Xenia, OH, two grandchildren, Cassandra (Chad) Eckman – Xenia, and Justin (Anastasia) Rodgers - San Diego, CA, a great-granddaughter, Anna Eckman – Xenia, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Osborn - Pickerington, OH and by several nieces and nephews and many close friends.
