
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet; daughters Tammy (Paul) Yeager, Jill (Jeff) Willis; son Wes (Christina) Stanley; bonus sons, Bob (Ginny) Stanley and Neil (Pam) Stanley; 11 grandchildren, Bob Jr., Laura, Karen, Carl (Nicole), Matthew, Crystal, Amber (Harold), Paula (Joe), Justin (Wendi), Emileigh (Dustin) and Lyndsey (Brenden); 32 great-grandbabies who called him PaPa Gene and PaPa Blue Genes. He was truly loved by his great-grandbabies. He was loved by many. He is also survived by his brothers, Gary (Phyllis) Stanley, Roland (Kathy) Stanley, Ronald (Emma Lee) Stanley and Tony (Jeannie) Stanley; sister, Judy (Charles) Haynes; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harland and Dixie Stanley; sister, Phyllis Norman; brother, Gordon Stanley and great-grandchild, Devon Stanley.
He devoted his working years to complete General Construction, retiring in 2000 after over 40 years as a superintendent. As he aged, his love for animals blossomed. He loved and cared for his own cats and also fed every stray cat he could. We hope he is remembered for caring and trying to protect God's creatures.Thank you to Emileigh, Amber and Lyndsey for transporting their grandpa to dialysis. He was so grateful that he had your help on those rough days.Go rest high on that mountain for your work down here is done. Life is what you live between the dash. 1939-2016

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday September 30 at HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Friends may call from 2-4 pm on Friday.
