Born in Cambridge, MA on July 1, 1948, Dennis was the son of the late Joseph and Marie Igo. He grew up with a strong sense of pride in his Boston roots, which he carried with him throughout his life. Dennis married the love of his life, Paula, and together they built a life filled with love and support for one another for an incredible 45 years.
Dennis served as a firefighter in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that forged lifelong friendships. It was during his service that he met Jim and Cecile Ogg, who would later introduce him to Paula, forever changing his life. Dennis cherished their friendship and the time they shared together over the years.
One of Dennis’s greatest joys was being surrounded by his family. He was a proud and devoted father to his children, Ron Spires, Matthew (Crystal) Igo, and Courtney (Ryan) Brooks. Above all, nothing brought Dennis more happiness than spending time with his grandchildren: Kalee (Nate) Bradfield, Jessica Spires, Breeonah Spires, Dylan Igo, Caleb Igo, Braxton Brooks, and Boston Brooks.
He was also a dedicated member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior for 45 years, where he formed many friendships and was an active part of the church community.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Paula; his children, his brother, Bill (Tricia) Igo; his brother-in-law, Billy Crisp; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Loretta Cox; his sister, Betty Noble; and his brother-in-law, Stephen Crisp.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 4:00 pm with Visitation from 2PM-4PM prior to the service, at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 1920 W Fair Ave, Lancaster.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Dennis's honor.
