
Dwight Edson Conrad Sr., 85, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Dwight was born December 27, 1928 in Lancaster, Ohio, Son of the late Hazel and Chester Conrad.
Dwight proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Boxer. He was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North Berne for 51 years. He retired from Deeds Dairy, Farming and later in life enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, sharing with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, who loved him very much; daughter Regina (Earl) Lintz, Pataskala, Oh; son, Michael (Connie) Conrad, Rushville, Oh; daughter Alma (Rodger) Allen, Millersport, Oh; son Harold Conrad and Cazzie Morrison, Columbus, Oh; daughter Diane (Rick) Thompson Rushville, Oh; stepchildren Randy (Kathy) Williams; Tammy (Bob) Leasure, Terry (Melissa) Williams and Michael Williams; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; brother Tommy Conrad, Sugar Grove, Oh; sister Sue Lanning of Florida; brother-in-law Raymond Morris of Lancaster, Oh; sister-in-law Alma Deacon of Florida.
Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Alta Marie, son Dwight E. Conrad Jr. and sister Helen Kline of Pennsylvania.
Dwight spent the last two weeks celebrating life with his family and dear friends, looking forward to “The best is yet to come” with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Please join us as we gather to celebrate Dwight’s life.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church – North Berne with Pastor Merlyn Seitz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday at Halteman-Fett and Dyer Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the Church.
