Elena C England

Elena Cobile England entered the gates of Heaven on November 4, 2024. Elena was 92 years old. She is survived by her siblings: Rosario Honeycutt (Harry), Murphy NC, Lourdes Baylosis, Wailuku, Hi, Joseph Baylosis (Bonnie), Makawao, Hi, William Baylosis (Roxanne), Makawao, Hi, Josephine Nakagawa, Lahaina, Hi, her children Leslie (Gail), Mohawk, TN, Marvin (Berta) Houston, TX, Erech, Lancaster, Elena Hunt (Rick), Lancaster, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Elena was born in Paia, Maui, Hawaii May 30, 1932 to Maura Lozada and Dimitrio Cobile. She was the eldest of 9 children. While attending nursing school in Honolulu, she met her husband Ronald, a navy man, on Waikiki Beach in 1952. They married in 1953. Elena became a nurse at Maunalani Hospital in Honolulu. In 1954 Elena and Ron received the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. They were members of Grace Chapel Red Hill, Honolulu, Hawaii. Throughout her life, Elena served in ministry alongside Ron.

They ministered together from 1960 to 1971 at Grace Baptist Church, Lancaster. In 1983 they returned to Hawaii where she led ladies and children’s ministry at Aloha Baptist Church in Honokaa for 19 years. They then served together at Kukuilani Baptist Church in Mililani, Hawaii. After many years of service in Hawaii, they returned to Lancaster, Ohio. Elena devoted herself to Ron and his end-of-life care. She continued to serve in children’s ministry at Calvary Baptist Church. Elena was known for her love of Jesus and love for her family and many adopted her as a Mom or Grandma. Her life was dedicated to prayer and sharing the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. She excelled as a wonderful hostess and cook. All who knew her felt loved and welcomed by her warmth and tender care.

Celebration of life is Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1910 Marietta Rd, Lancaster, OH 43130. Viewing: 10 am - 12 pm, service 12 pm. Graveside immediately following, Forest Rose Cemetery.
