.Fred W. Griggs, age 79 of Pleasantville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011 at Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital. Fred was a well-known farmer and served in the U.S. Army. Fred attended Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and was a member of Pleasantville Masonic Lodge # 531 F.&A.M..
Survived by his wife of 60 years, Beverly J. Griggs, daughter Judy (Mike) McGonagle, son-in-law Roger Lutz, grandchildren: Matthew McGonagle and Brian Lutz, great-grandson Mason Lutz, brother, Thomas (Linda) Griggs, brother-in-law Bill Miller, nieces and nephews. Fred’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandsons, great grandson and farming.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Dorothy Griggs and a daughter Tammy Lutz.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Noland officiating. Burial will be at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
