James “Jimmy” D. Benson, 67 of Carroll, passed away on Thursday, November 24th, 2022 at the Fairfield Medical Center. Jimmy was born on September 28th, 1955 in Lancaster to Halvin and Nelda Benson. He was a 1973 Graduate of Bloom-Carroll High School and owner/operator of J. Benson Excavating. Jimmy took joy in the simple things in life, but where he took most joy was in his three daughters and his family. Jimmy was most known around the village of Carroll for his dedication and service.
Jimmy is survived by his daughters, Angela Benson, Dovie Benson & Heather (William) Botts; grandchildren, Deidra Benson, Dion Benson, Alizay Holiday, Jaelynn Botts, Kaylee Botts and Cynthia Botts; great-grandchildren, Jayce and Jayden Bailey and Deacon Miesse; mother, Nelda Benson; brothers, Randy (Glenna) Benson, and John Benson; as well as many loving family members and friends.
He is digging holes in heaven with his father, Halvin Benson and great-grandson, Thayde.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 29th, 2022 at 2PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Burial is to follow at Betzer Cemetery in Carroll. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11AM until the time of the services.
