Jerry Dean Raney

Jerry Dean Raney, 89 of Lancaster passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the Pickering House. Jerry was born on August 22, 1935 in McConnelsville, Ohio to the late Roy and Helen Raney. He was a 1954 graduate of Somerset High School and served in the Ohio National Guard. He retired from Ohio Bell in 1991. Jerry enjoyed building birdhouses and collecting coins. Most of all, Jerry loved spending time with family.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda Raney; children, Debbie Osborne, Jim (Tammy) Raney, Jeff (Kim) Raney, Stephen (Christa) Feeman, and Alicia (Bill) King; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Per Jerry’s wishes, Dignity Cremation is being handled through the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held on February 15, 2025 at 12PM at the Life Church Vineyard (5550 Lancaster-Newark Rd NE, Pleasantville, OH). Visitation will be held from 11AM-12PM at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Life Church Vineyard (PO Box 185, Pleasantville, OH 43148).

The family would like to give a special thank you to their visiting hospice nurse, Crystal, who was a rock for them during a difficult time.
