John “Jack” Lester, 88, of Lancaster, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, April 18, 2022 at Primrose of Lancaster. Jack was born on January 3, 1934 in Chauncey, Ohio to the late Roy Mitchell and Lovella Mae Kasler Lester. Jack was a devoted Christian, church elder, bible bowl coach, taught Sunday school and enjoyed serving as choir director for various churches. Jack's happiest moments were spent being with his family, playing golf, racquetball, volleyball, bridge, and euchre, ballroom dancing, and reading.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Anne Lester, parents, daughter Anne M. Heeter, granddaughter Laura Maye Allison.
Jack is survived by his son, Jon (Jenny) Lester, daughter, Karen (Neal) Allison; grandchildren, Joshua D. Heeter, Erika A. Lester, Anna C. Allison and Ben (Michelle) Elbert, great grandchildren, Zeke and Emmi Elbert; several niece and nephews.
Family & friends may visit on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Friday. Jack will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio 43130
