Justine A. Wittich, born Justine O. Anderson, was born December 13, 1935 to Edward Anderson and Anna M. Schak in Cleveland, Ohio. She grew up in Northern Ohio and graduated from Northfield-Macedonia High School. After earning a BSJ at Ohio University, she worked in radio, as a secretary, for a correspondence school, as a free-lance writer, and taught professional development and did job placement for students at the Fairfield Career Center. She also enjoyed a stint in public relations. One of her most impressive achievements was publishing 11 books. Her 7th book, Family Matters, received the National Romance Writers Association Reader's Choice Award for Best Romantic Suspense novel in 2004.
Justine, known as Tina to most, was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she wrote and edited for the newsletter and sang alto in the choir for many years. She did various types of volunteer work in the communities where she lived, touching lives from the elderly to middle school students. She made beautiful embroidery and clothing with ease. She was also a member of her college synchronized swim team and instructed/coached at the YMCA in Chillicothe, OH.
Tina was known for her kindness as well as her quick wit and humor. She is dearly missed by family and countless friends. Justine was preceded in death by her beloved son Mark, and is survived by her husband Edward "Pete" Wittich, her brother James Anderson and wife Joyce, daughter Mariana Wittich, and more than a dozen adoring nieces and nephews and their children. She was known by many as, "my favorite aunt." College friends used to call her "Tinkerbell", and the world will not be quite as bright without her.
A graveside service will be held at Pleasant Cemetery, 14220 Era Rd., Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 on Thursday, July 3 at 10:30 AM.
