Larry is the little brother of Shelly Tipton, and big brother of Courtney Tipton and Kyle Salyer, all of Lancaster. He is the uncle of Tayler White, Joel White, Angel Handshey, and Andrew Handshey, all of Lancaster. Larry is the nephew of Keith and Sandy Lewis, of Delaware, Kevin and JoAnn Lewis, of Delaware, Starr Lynn Daubenmire, of Dayton, and Valerie J. Tipton, of Columbus; survived by several cousins in the Columbus and Middletown areas.
The melody was Larry's oasis where he found comfort and peace. The lyrics are where he found meaning and purpose. There was nothing but pure joy and gratitude in the hearts of his family and friends when he would pick up his guitar and start playing. His music had a way of embracing you and filling the holes of your heart. He was a student at Columbus State Community College and the Ohio State University, and a dedicated employee of three years at Ricoh. His laughter, stories, jokes, and good fun will forever be braided into the hearts of his family and friends. Those that knew him loved him, and those that loved him will never forget him. Let the memories of Larry exist in the melodies that brought him peace and comfort, and let the lyrics remind us of his big personality, big smile, and most of all his big heart.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Margaret Gard.
A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday February 5, 2015 at Faith Memorial Church. Friends may call 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home.
