
Marcia Sue (Davis) Varner, 65, of Lancaster passed away on February 17th, 2018 at the Pickering House. Marcia was born on December 8th, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Marvin and Rosemary Davis. She was a graduate of Berne Union High School, Grant Hospital School of Nursing and Ohio University. Marcia served as a Captain in the United States Air Force-Nurse Corps. She was also a longtime member of the Fairfield Christian Church and the American Legion Post 11.
Marcia is survived by beloved husband, Chris Varner; daughters, Kerry (Chad) Walter, Stephanie (Chris) Brown of Lancaster; and son David Willey (fiancée, Julie Banasiak) of Garland, TX; grandchildren, Christian, Angel, and Abigail Walter, Ashley Brown, and special grandchildren, Isabella Varner and Jolene Banasiak. She is also survived by brother, Marvin Davis Jr.; sisters, Sharon Bay and Ruth Davis; many nieces and nephews, and many brothers and sisters in Christ in the Lamplighters class.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John Davis.
A Celebration of Life is to take place on Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 at 11AM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUENRAL HOME with Pastor Mark Barbee officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the funeral home. Per Marcia’s request Dignity Cremation is to take place following the services.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pickering House; Pregnancy Decision Health Centers; or the Fairfield Christian Church in memory of Marcia.
