

Maxine R. Rutherford, 93, of Lancaster passed away Saturday December 27, 2014 at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born on May 13, 1921 in Canton, Ohio to the late Walter Mast and Cecil Miller Mast. She was a 50 year member of the First United Methodist Church, Elizabeth Circle, Twig #9 and Matron of Children’s Home for 17 years. Maxine was a graduate of Lancaster High School in 1939 and Lancaster City Hospital RN in 1943. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #11, Fairfield Heritage Association, OES #12 Parthenian Chapter of Baltimore, Ladies Oriental Shrine of Columbus and avid Bridge player.
She is survived by daughter, Joyce (Dave) Frasure of Lancaster, son-in-law, Jeff (Diane) Faulkner; grandchildren, Sarah (Nathan) Fox, Ellen (Robert) Kerr, Kimberly (Matthew) Johnson and Kara (Justin) Sivillo; great grandchildren, Brandon and Eric Johnson, Jake and Luke Sivillo, Josilin Fox and Isaac Kerr; sister, Yvonne (John) Bowland of Lancaster.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Rutherford, parents, daughter, Ruth Ann Faulkner.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday, 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Cheryl Foulk officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Today at Halteman-Fett and Dyer funeral home, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
