Michael “Mick” J. Swisher, 66 of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Fairfield Medical Center. Mick was born in Lancaster, Ohio on February 4, 1957 to the late Donn E. Swisher Sr. and Margaret “Peg” Swisher. Mick had worked as a Quality Control Engineer at Core Molding Technologies and had been an umpire for baseball and softball since 1985. He was an avid lover of golf and baseball. Most of all, Mick loved spoiling his grandkids and spending time with his family.
Mick is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Janet Swisher; daughter, Kayla (Chris) Carroll; sons, Jameson (Maranda) Messer and Steven (Kori) Messer; grandchildren, Aiden, Dakota, Jeffrey, Camden, Nova, Kiara, Tye, and Waylon; brother, Donn (Ellen) Swisher Jr.; special nephew, Garey (Brenda) Swisher; as well as many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Jeffrey Swisher and Bob Swisher.
A Celebration of Mick’s Life will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 6PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME, officiated by his Brother-in-Law, Mel Romans. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4PM-6PM at the Funeral Home.
