
Norma Jean (Barnes) Bullock passed away on August 17, 2015 at 89 years of age. For the past six years she had been a resident of Canton Christian Home in Canton, OH, but lived the rest of her life in Lancaster, OH. She was born on November 11, 1925 to James Edward Barnes & Edna Zula (Cook) Barnes.
Norma graduated from Lancaster High School in 1944, and was employed through the years by J.P. Wiseman Co., Herman Manufacturing Co., Dr. Fred Spangler, Hallmark, and Fairfield Medical Center. She was a longtime member of Fifth Avenue Church of Christ, and enjoyed traveling with church groups. Favorite outings included the Fairfield County Fair, Old Man's Cave in the Hocking Hills, and being near water, especially Holden Beach, NC, and Canandaigua, NY.
She was preceded in death by husband Bernard E. Bullock, son David E. Bullock, sister and brother-in-law Mary Ann and George Bloom, and special friend, Whitney (Chub) Smith of Canandaigua, NY.
Norma is survived by a loving family, including sons Jeffrey (Pamela) Bullock of Canton, OH and Michael (Kimberly) Bullock of Columbus, OH; daughters Ann (Rob) Streeter of Plano, TX and Caryn Bullock Halstead of Dublin, OH; grandchildren Joshua Lavere, Carey (Tony) Haeufgloeckner, Brant Podojak, Kirstyn Podojak, and Ross Streeter; and great grandson, Zane Haeufgloeckner. She is also survived by special nieces Carolyn (Jim) Daubenmire and Cathy (Ken) Karns; many other nieces and nephews; and special lifelong friend, Dorothy Henderly, of Lancaster, OH.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 6-8 pm at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Brad Seevers officiating. Final resting place is Forest Rose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fifth Avenue Church of Christ, 115 W Fifth Ave, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
