

Raymond E. Lordier, 84, from the New Albany, Ohio area passed away on December 1, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born February 6, 1929 in Franklin County to the late Raymond A. and Thelma Ardella (Martin) Lordier. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 yrs, Anne Gaye Cummings; his sister, Roberta Grace, his brothers, Ronald & Ralph Lordier and Rex Haddox. He is survived by his children: Nancy (Gary) Postlethwait, Debbie Steinberg, Richard (Vicki) Lordier, Charlotte (Steve) Affolter, Robert Lordier; 14 grandchildren: Angela (Ivan) Valenzuela, Dan Postlethwait, Leah Snyder, Chavie (Sruly) Lieber, Hudy (Adina) Steinberg, Rivki (Tuli) Reichmann; Marci Lordier, Wendy Pearce, Matt Lordier, Tiffany Lordier; Shawn (Nikki) Affolter, Crystal (Chris) Thornsley, Scott (Tiffany) Affolter, Danielle (Justin) Webb; 27 great-grandchildren: Ava, Ella, and Evan Valenzuela; Yosef, Ayala, Shlomo and Rivka Snyder; Shani, Shira and Raphi Lieber, Aylee and Rachel Steinberg, Aliza, Yonah and Leora Reichmann; Chase and Samantha Pearce, Hunter and Mayka Lordier; Hannah and Nick Affolter; JT (Nikki) Tacderan, Andrew, Allison and Aaron Thornsley, Tanner and Talon Affolter. One sister, Lois Regina Tilley and one brother, Greenville Howard (Rocky) Haddix III; Many nieces and nephews.
Ray & Anne were owners of Loray Contractors that worked on both State and Federal projects. He worked on the Pennsylvania Railroad as a brakeman and conductor for many years. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and served 5 years in the Naval Reserves. During his life he was employed by Curtis Wright and The Timken Roller Bearing Co. He was a charter member of the Justeens Swim Club. As the treasure, he spearheaded the financing and building of the local swimming pool for the residents of New Albany in the 60’s. He and his wife enjoyed traveling the United States, Canada and Mexico for many years.
