S. Gene Mason

He was born on September 3, 1936 to the late Norman Mason and Florence (Carpenter, Liff) Mason in Pickerington, Ohio.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Miriam (Schwartz) Mason, son Tim (Judy Howdyshell) Mason, daughter Lori (Matthew) Roe, grandchildren Bradley (Sarah)Mason, Cory (Heather) Mason, Tyler (Ashlea) Roe, Mackenzie Roe, 11 great grandchildren, sisters Kathleen Lockhart, Ruth Ramsey, Bonnie (Ed) Broxson, sister-in-law June Liff, Fairy Burrier, brother-in-law Quentin (Arletta) Schwartz, many nieces and nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by parents Norman and Florence Mason, brother Elmer Liff, brothers-in-law Carl Ramsey, Lester Lockhart, Robert Burrier and grandson Andrew Wayne Mason.

He graduated from Lancaster High School in the Class of 1954. He was employed as manager in the printing department at Anchor Hocking and later retired from the printing department of Lancaster City Schools. He attended Faith Memorial Church. Gene was a very gentle, kind hearted man who always loved to share a joke and make people laugh. He loved his family; friends and he was a dedicated Christian who loved the Lord.

Family and friends are invited to his visitation 10AM-12PM on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the Halteman-Fett and Dyer Funeral Home at 436 N. Broad Street, Lancaster, OH 43130. The funeral service will start at 12PM. Burial will commence at Greenfield Township Cemetery.
