

Sheila Jean Horton Kennedy, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2016 after a hard fought struggle with cancer. Her strength and courage in the face of the disease was truly inspirational to all those who met her. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and extraordinary ability to see only the best in people, as well as love of animals, The Arts, puzzles and a good Bloody Mary. Sheila was born in Providence Rhode Island on April 12th 1932. She was a 1949 graduate of Lincoln High School in Providence Rhode Island, 1953 graduate of Connecticut College for Women New London Connecticut.
She is survived by children; Andrew (Denise) Kennedy, Alplaus New York, Doug (Celeste) Kennedy, Odenton Maryland, Jeannie Kennedy, Lancaster Ohio, Samuel (Shawna) Kennedy, Albany Oregon; grandchildren, Rhiannon Kennedy, Nicole Kitzmann, Sheila Trgovac, Matthew Trgovac, Marissa Kennedy, Nolan Trgovac, Joslin Kennedy, Ann Norris, Shawn Kennedy; brothers, Frank Horton, Donald (Jean) Horton both of Saco, Maine; Special Caregiver, Julia Anthony, Beloved cats Dumbledore and Rumpelstiltskin.
Proceeded in death by, Husband, William Francis Skinner Kennedy, father, Herbert Roy Horton, mother, Aileen Hamilton Horton Lemon, stepfather, Alfred Bunyon Lemon.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday June 18, 2016 at The First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Matthew Richardson officiating. Visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Heritage Room at the church.
