Annette Marie Aline DesLauriers, age 73, passed away in her home on October 21, 2022, after a brief but difficult battle with cancer. She was born October 30, 1948, in New Westminster to Eva and Wilfred DesLauriers.
Annette lived life on her own terms, spending time with her large family and with her many passions. In addition to travel - particularly cruising on the ocean - Annette was an enthusiastic collector, amassing an impressive inventory of unique and special Barbie dolls. Annette was also an ardent champion of an underdog, always prepared to help those around her. Brilliant with numbers and a skilled seamstress, Annette was both traditional and independent. She had wanted to be a teacher but life had other plans for her. However, Annette taught her three children well, raising them to be healthy and happy. She is survived by her two sons and their wives Darren and Brenda Danyluk, Prentiss and Michelle Danyluk, and her daughter and her husband Nicolette Danyluk and Brent Kennedy; grandchildren Madeleine, Emily, Marija, and Nicholas; plus her many, many nephews and nieces.
Annette is predeceased by siblings Vernon DesLauriers and wife Ethel; sister Louella Ferguson and husband Don; sister Louise Burt and husband Adam; and brothers-in-law Gene Chevalier, Chris Carter, and Robert Bourgeault. Annette is survived by many siblings: sisters Zelia Chevalier and Arvella Bourgeault; sister Irene Thompson and her husband Bill Saunders; sister Margaret Matthews and Wayne Borthwick; sister Diane Carter; and brother Donald DesLauriers and his wife Susan. She is also survived by her longtime friend and love, Douglas Bonnallie and his son Christopher.
Annette touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
